EURL Staff

The Animal Health Research Centre (CISA), belongs to the National Centre for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA) inside the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) under the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. It is located in Valdeolmos, 40 km northeast of Madrid, designed in 1993 to expand and reinforce the actions of the Ministry of Agriculture in the field of Animal Health.

In addition to the European Union Reference Laboratory (EURL) for ASF -2002 to date- , CISA is FAO Reference Centre for ASF since 2013. Their ASF EURL/FAO experts belong to the WOAH network for ASF.

The ASF EURL team belongs to the Department of Infectious Diseases and Global Health (EISGlobal), located under the research group of Emerging and Transboundary Diseases (EET) at CISA.
